Poetry - Blinding Black

So i've been writing a lot lately, poems especially so i decided to start posting them here...

You know when you have a strong crush on someone but you just keep observing them from afar, staring, maybe even lock eyes with the person, or say hi while passing? well this is more than that...

BLINDING BLACK

There she stood,
Like an eyot in the midst of magnificence,
With skin so dark
Its brilliance outshone the moon
With smile like white flag
Settling the scores amongst nations
Silencing drums of war

I froze
As I met her gaze
One more powerful than Medusa’s
Her eyes were that of the storms’
I was the shore
She was the island
And the river kept us apart
I prayed only for eternal drought.
