Poetry - Blinding Black
You know when you have a strong crush on someone but you just keep observing them from afar, staring, maybe even lock eyes with the person, or say hi while passing? well this is more than that...

A date with "Wonder woman"
Before exams that day, I invited her to come have lunch with me after her papers at a restaurant I frequent. After her exams, she and her friends waited for me under a tree close to the post office, I had seen them from a distance but the narcissist in me made me delay a little longer just so they'll wait for me a little longer. I showed up after delaying for and extra 5mins, I looked at her and she couldn't manage a smile, "exams must have been bad for her", i thought, and "boy was i right?", I exchanged greetings with her friends and they asked me to take care of her then they left for the hostel.
We sat under the tree for the next five minute while she told me what a bad day she had. I interrupted her in the middle of a sentence and said, "don't let it bother you, think happy thoughts", then she replied "you know if I don't vent now, the feeling will keep welling inside, don't you remember?", there was a brief silence then she said "okay, I won't let it bother me", then we left for the restaurant.
When we got there the place was crowded and she explained to me how she can't eat in a place like that, not when people are around, so we went to a more private place, I ordered for jollof rice and moi moi, she ordered the same, I collected a fork and a knife for myself and a spoon for her and I explained to her how I prefer to eat with both cutlery instead of a spoon, she didn't quite understand but we got down to the business of digging through the meal before us and in a short while only a piece of beef was left on my plate. It was easy to cut through the beef and eat since I was using a fork and a knife and in no time I had cleared my plate. She couldn't finish her food so she went for the beef, and in the process of trying to cut through the piece of meat with her spoon, it broke in half. We both burst into uncontrollable laughter and when we caught our breath, with a stern voice she asked "have you paid?", "yes" I replied, "are they owing you change?", "No" I replied, then she looked around briefly then back at me and said "let's bounce".
The End.
She's definitely gonna kill me when she reads this. Lol.
